Information Technology Generalist / Database Systems Specialist
IFES, an international non-profit organization that provides technical assistance in the field of elections and the promotion of democracy, is seeking to hire an Information Technology Generalist / Database Systems Specialist to assist in work relating to voter registration and voter registry development. The position calls for a dynamic professional who can work in a collaborative and collegial manner. Flexibility, the ability to work under tight time-frames and a can-do attitude are assets. Due to the nature of the work, the position requires a professional who can maintain the highest standards of impartiality and confidentiality at all times.
Educational Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Information Systems Management, at a minimum.
Professional Qualifications & Experience
At least five (5) years experience in database development and programming.
Experience in the management of very large, rapidly changing data-bases.
Experienced in the synchronization between centralized and decentralized databases, including the implementation of rapid, large-scale decentralized data-entry operations.
Knowledgeable of data-base security, authorized-access and access-tracking protocols
Knowledge of Oracle and MySQL programming essential.
Experience with web-based data-bases and internet queries.
Experience with SMS and GPRS database access, desirable.
Other qualifications
Ability to understand and explain technical concepts in English.
Training experience desirable
